Enhanced Functionality for Better Surfaces

Nanotechnology deals with the study of molecular and atomic particles, a world that is measured in nanometres (billionths of a metre or 10-9) and is 1000 times smaller than the human eye can see.
Working at this nanoscale, specifically designed molecular architectures and intelligent structures can be created. These supra (nano) molecules provide superior, performance-enhancing attributes such as stronger, smoother, longer lasting, more flexible, smarter and less expensive coatings.
Nanokote’s products are new generation products that utilise nanotechnology. A great example of chemical nanotechnology which is common to a number of our surface coating materials is the ability to enhance a material with both hydrophobic and oleophobic (water and oil repelling) characteristics, which results in a run-off effect with water and oil.

The hydrophobic function, or the run-off effect, is the most popular application of ‘surface influencing’ nanotechnology. The hydrophobic qualities allow liquid to bead off a surface. For example, when treated with Nanokote, water simply runs off car windscreens and windows like balls of mercury.
Nanokote products with hydrophobic functions are available for many surfaces, including glass, metal, wood, plastic, mineral undercoats, textiles and concrete. The surfaces maintain their clear and clean appearance longer and allow superior glass visibility and presentation of other surfaces. The enhancements can also be effortlessly cleaned of tar, insects and oils with less (and more environmentally friendly) cleaning products.
